The Romanesque churches of Arrazua-Ubarrundia are particularly interesting. They differ sufficiently in style from the Romanesque buildings in Urkabustaiz, Zuia and Zigotia, and share enough features with other churches in the plains area for them to be considered as part of a distinct school of Romanesque architecture native to the plains of Araba.

The church most representative of this style is the parish church of San Esteban Protomartir in Durana. Its extraordinary 13th century portico is outstanding, and it contains many well-preserved examples of typical features of decoration on its archivolts and the capitals of its columns, ranging from animal motifs through mythical beings, human faces, and geometrical shapes to plant motifs.
The churches of Arzubiaga, Betolaza and Ullibarri-Ganboa also contain interesting examples of these Romanesque decorations.
Another interesting feature of the area is the series of crosses, the bets of which are in Nanclares de Ganboa, Ullibarri-Ganboa and Zurbano, which are thought to have been set up to guide travellers and pilgrims and to serve as meeting points for prayer. Such crosses may be found all over the "Cuadrilla", but especially in Arrazua-Ubarrundia, Zigoitia and Aramaio.
