Mount Usokoaitza and Mount Isuskitza mark the westernmost end of the Sierra de Elgea, a chain of hills on the border between Gipuzkoa and Araba. They form a watershed, and have many fine paths for walking, especially from Legutiano and Landa. The path runs along a major route (signposted as "GR") running through beech woods with openings from which outstanding views are afforded over the plains of Araba to the south and towards the Alto Deba area of Gipuzkoa to the north.
It is worthwhile following the GR marked path up to the bare summits of Elgea, Mugarriluza or Aumategi, all of which offer spectacular views from altitudes of over 1000 m. The first wind farm in Basque Autonomous Community is being built in this area.
