Recreational areas and leisure services

Several leisure, sports and recreational facilities have been set up close to the reservoir. At the north end is the International Sailing Course, where sailing lessons are also given.

The provincial council of Alava/ Araba runs two park areas on the bank of the reservoir: Sorgimendi in Urrunaga and Zabalain in Legutiano. Both are equipped with picnic tables, hearths for barbecues and small artificial beaches.

There are bars, restaurants, hotels an rural guest houses in Elosu, Urrunaga and Legutiano.

On the outskirts of Legutiano the Kanterarreta viewing balcony affords marvellous panoramic views over the reservoir towards Gorbeia.

Romanesque buildings can be found in the villages of Goiain and Urrunaga, notably the chapel of Santa Ana (Goiain) and the parish church of San Juan Bautista (Urrunaga).
